The Runs

GENERAL:  All four routes begin and end at the DoWackaDo HQ (see MAP page).  All four runs are loops within the 19,100 acre Oklahoma owned and managed Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area.  The Trails are mostly graded ranch roads through canyonlands of a maximum of about 220 feet from creek to mesa tops. 

The 25k is one loop from the headquarters south and back, and the 50k is two loops, and the 50 mile is three loops. 

NOTICE:  THE 50 MILE IS ON!!!  WE'VE STAGED IT IN THE PAST AS AN OPTION IF A MINUMUM NUMBER SIGNED UP.  THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE.  THE 50 MILE WILL BE HELD.  CUTOFF TIME FOR THE 50 MILE COURSE WILL BE 9 HOURS AT THE 50 KILOMETER POINT (TWO LAPS). AID WILL END AT 14.5 HOURS ON THE 50 MILER. 

AID STATIONS:  There are AID STATIONS around every 4 miles (2.5 miles on the 5 mile).    The Aid Stations will be stocked with water, gatorade, sweet and salty snacks, and pbj sandwiches on the longer routes.

 

DROP BAG ZONE for the 50k & 50 mile will be at the run start/finish line.

START TIMES:  September 8, 2012; Sandy Sanders WMA (see MAP page for directions to SSWMA).

7:00 am - 25k,50k, and 50 mile runs   7:30 am  - 5 mile run

T-SHIRTS:  Short-sleeve tech running shirts with Do-Wacka-Do logo on the front. Sign up by August 24, 2012 to insure you get a shirt.  

RUN AWARDS: Special locally made awards will be give to the top male and female finishers in the 5k, 25k,  50k, and 50 mile runs.  Medals will be awarded in male and female age groups as follows:

1-30 yrs, 31-45 yrs, and 46-99 yrs. 

FINISHER AWARDS:  to all finishers of the 25k, 50k, and 50 mile DWD runs.
